Charlotte Mecklenburg Library offers a variety of free digital literacy programs for both beginners and those looking to enhance their technology skills. Classes are offered online and at select Library locations. We also partner with organizations such as AARP and the Center for Digital Equity to bring you additional resources and options.
Improve Your Technology Skills!
Digital Literacy Charlotte: Tech Titans 50+
Sign up for a beginner’s technology class or series at your local library! In partnership with AARP, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will be hosting sessions at multiple library locations. This program provides a welcoming learning environment for older adults to support each other as they develop new technology skills. Programs are geared toward ages 50+.
Upcoming Courses:
Courses meet 2x per week for 5 or 10 weeks. These are hands-on classes with lots of practice and a course book is provided.
Computer Essentials (5-Weeks)
This 5-week course covers the essentials of how to use the basic functions of a personal computer, how to navigate the internet, and how to send and receive email. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundation for using a computer and the internet to enrich your life. A computer will be provided for use during each class session. Courses meet 2x per week for 5-weeks. These are hands-on classes with lots of practice and a course book is provided.

Money Matters (10-weeks)
In this 10-week course, you’ll learn about smart financial habits, use online resources to find benefits, and save money online. This course is much more than budgeting! By the end of this course, you will also know how to shop online to find the best deals, search for flights and hotels on the internet, access movies and music, and earn extra income. This class will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. starting April 29th at Southpark Library.
Tech Tuesdays at Sugar Creek
This will be a weekly offering of lectures on a variety of topics at Sugar Creek Library. You can register for individual classes or attend all four. They will be held Tuesdays at 12 p.m.
